The primary objective of the project was to enhance UNICEF’s ability to effectively address both regular and emergency procurement needs in Uzbekistan. This was achieved by updating and expanding their local supplier database. To facilitate this, a comprehensive market survey was conducted to assess the availability, quality, and readiness of local suppliers across various sectors. This ensured that UNICEF would have access to reliable sources for goods and services in critical times.
Our team carried out a detailed survey that included around 1,000 companies throughout Uzbekistan. We examined the market landscape, focusing on key sectors such as logistics, medical supplies, IT equipment, and emergency materials. The survey combined both quantitative and qualitative research methods, allowing us to thoroughly evaluate each supplier’s capacity to meet UNICEF’s specific needs.
As part of the process, we invited companies to express their interest and submit the necessary documentation for pre-qualification. Our team then visited sites to validate the operational capabilities of suppliers and ensure they met international standards. A comprehensive evaluation framework was developed to score and rank suppliers based on their potential for ongoing collaboration with UNICEF.
The final deliverables included a detailed database of pre-qualified suppliers, which provided essential contact information, service categories, and specific identifiers within UNICEF’s system. In addition, we produced an in-depth report outlining the key findings, strategic recommendations, and a roadmap for maintaining a current and effective supplier database. This work aimed to enhance UNICEF’s procurement processes, building stronger, long-term partnerships with the most reliable suppliers in Uzbekistan.
