The World Bank is actively backing the Government’s initiative to strengthen and expand social protection measures for the economically vulnerable and those affected by recent economic changes through the Strengthening Social Protection Project. At the heart of this effort is the development and enhancement of the Single Register, designed to boost the effectiveness of social benefits. This strategy unfolds in two parts: first, introducing and scaling the Single Register; and second, a dedicated drive to enhance the efficiency of social benefits.

To cement the project’s objectives, there’s a forthcoming initiative to initiate an all-encompassing training program for specialists from the Information and Computer Center of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Finance. This curriculum spans a wide range of topics, from User Interface (UI) Design, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Microservices to Development and Operations (DevOps) with a strong focus on cybersecurity integration (DevSecOps). It further encompasses Data Protection Design, Database Management, Data Warehousing, Report Development, Business Intelligence with emphasis on advanced report creation, OLAP analytics, and foundational knowledge in Data Science, AI, and Machine Learning. A group of 40 professionals will receive targeted training across these sectors, enabling in-depth expertise for five specialists in each area.
