The government has prioritized the mitigation of adverse socioeconomic consequences of the crisis triggered by the Russian invasion on Ukraine on poor and vulnerable groups as its immediate priority. The proposed Building Resilience with Active Countercyclical Expenditures (BRACE) Program will provide critical financing support to enable the government to undertake its $1.2 billion countercyclical development expenditure program (CDEP) for providing (i) food security, price stability, and business support; (ii) direct social assistance; and (iii) social protection and employment support. The BRACE Program’s outputs are consistent and aligned with the three key areas of the government’s CDEP.
