The Confederation of the German Knitting Industry (Gesamtmasche) and Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association (UTGIA) are engaging in a partnership program financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Another partner of the project is SEQUA gGmbH, a globally operating non-profit development organization The duration of the project is 31.05.2022. The aim is to strengthen the sustainability and transparency in the Uzbek cotton and textile industry and to foster access to the German and European markets. Furthermore, the project aims at cooperating in the field of training professionals. Within the framework of the project, training and capacity-building activities for textile enterprises are planned to be organized in February 2022. The training aims at enhancing the sales and marketing skills of managers and experts in textile companies that are involved in export and customer service and improving their readiness to enter into the European Markets. Previously, European customers have struggled from the initial communication with their Uzbek suppliers. Such challenges need to be addressed through well-designed training, capacity building, and other programs. In the training, participants should learn to define the customer market, contact potential buyers, communicate quickly and appropriately, close transactions, and maintain positive customer relationships.
